• Operate and maintain wire EDM machines, finish machines, hand tools, and fixtures operate more than one machine at a time.
• Use computer software or CAM Software to model cutting paths and program machines accordingly
• Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, specifications, referencing planes. Locations of surfaces and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances.
• Programs Wire EDM by utilizing CAD geometry provided or drawing file provided, utilizing Master Cam, setting parts according to datums in files, on drawings, or programs
• Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample parts, adhering to standards.
• Use proper material handling techniques to ensure quality of product and condition of equipment.
• Work from part drawings and use required precision measuring instruments to check machine positioning and inspect work
• Adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality
• Adjust machine and fixture stops to maintain finish and tolerance requirements.
• Make machine adjustments, tool changes, etc. as required
• Use basic inspection tools, such as calipers, micrometers, height stands, comparators, etc
• Burr removal on all parts where required
• Read and interpret blue prints, inspection check-sheets and instructions
• Identifies all work in process pieces and finished goods pieces.
• Clean up oil using the proper equipment and disposal method.

• Operate tow motor and crane without assistance.

• Can read and use calipers, micrometers, height gauge, and depth micrometers.
• Can apply the concepts of fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations using calculators, computers, and reference materials.
• Understanding of mathematical concepts such as percentage and basic statistical calculations (CPK, fundamentals of plane, and solid geometry and trigonometry, etc.)
• Understanding of Wire EDM machines and controls
• Strong knowledge of G & M machining codes
• Strong knowledge of technical GD&T drawing reading skills.
• Must be able to understand quality standards and gauging.

• Effectively communicate continuity among work shifts by documenting actions, irregularities and continuing needs.
• May be required to perform inspections and analyses of processes to determine the appropriate actions needed to maintain quality levels on parts and processes.
• Complete any and all paperwork as required.
• Maintain accurate records.
• Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; troubleshooting malfunctions and/or calling for maintenance.
• Maintain maintenance records.
• Reports issues in a timely manner to the Plant Manager-Mold and Machine Division.
